RICKY ( A Rickster Mini-Doc)
RICKY from Spine TV on Vimeo.
This film meets Ricky Powell, a native New Yorker whose photographs of iconic people such as the Beastie Boys, Keith Haring and Cindy Crawford made him a pivotal figure in the downtown party scene during the '80s and '90s.
Now 50, Ricky’s lust for photography and music is still strong. Through his eccentricities such as his love for a transistor radio and feeding squirrels in the park, we gain an insight into his everyday life. Retrospective of New York City and how it has changed over his lifetime, he shows us around the city and contemplates what the future holds.

The 10s | A Moment of Silence (RIP Scott La Rock)
25 Years ago today, August 27th the Hip Hop world lost the legendary Scott La Rock. For all you new jacks Scott was the original dj and co-founder of Boogie Down Productions with KRS-ONE.
Scott was a Social worker in a men's shelter in the Bronx where he met KRS-ONE. Its ironic and sad that Scott being a social worker was shot and killed while trying to help D-Nice squash a beef with another dude.
Scott had a huge hand along with Ultramagnetic's Ced Gee in putting together BDP's classic debut album "Criminal Minded". Scott was killed not long after the albums release while starting work on the groups second LP "By Any Means Necessary". R.I.P. Scott La Rock!!
Here is a classic mix courtesy of Upnorth Trips! Peace!
